How it works

  1. 1

    Create an account

Sign up with email or Google. Verify your phone via SMS (one-time, for fraud prevention). No credit card required up front.

  2. 2

    Pick a country

Choose from 12+ countries: US, UK, Canada, Germany, France, Netherlands, Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Sweden, Denmark, Finland. Each country lists a monthly rental price and what type of number is available (mobile or landline).

  3. 3

    Top up your wallet

Pay with Stripe (card, Apple Pay, Google Pay) or PayPal. Minimum top-up is $5. The first month's rental is debited on activation; subsequent months renew automatically until you cancel.

  4. 4

Use the number in your browser

Calls and SMS are handled in-browser. You can also point the number at another phone for call forwarding, or use the dialer to make outbound calls at near-wholesale per-minute rates.

FAQ

What is a virtual phone number?
A virtual phone number is an active local phone number that lives in software instead of on a SIM card. It can receive calls, voicemails, and SMS — including verification codes from services like WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, or your bank — directly in your web browser. The number is dialable from anywhere in the world, but it carries the country code of the country where it was provisioned.
How much does a virtual phone number cost on callmins?
Virtual numbers start at $0.99/month for US, UK, and Lithuania, $1.49/month for Canada, Poland, and Ukraine, and $1.99/month for Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. Outbound calling is pay-per-minute on top of the monthly rental, with unlimited-call bundles available for popular destinations.
Do I need to install an app?
No. callmins runs entirely in the browser using WebRTC. Sign up, top up your wallet, and dial. A progressive web app (PWA) is available for users who want a desktop quick-launch icon, but it's optional.
Can I receive WhatsApp, Telegram, or banking verification codes?
Yes — virtual numbers on callmins can receive SMS from most consumer services, including WhatsApp and Telegram. A handful of services block known VoIP ranges, which is true of every virtual-number provider; if a code does not arrive within 5 minutes, the SMS is automatically refunded.
Is the number really mine?
Yes — the number is yours for as long as you keep the monthly rental active. If you cancel, callmins releases the number back to the carrier pool after a 30-day hold. During the hold you can re-claim it for the standard monthly fee.
How is this different from Google Voice or Skype?
Google Voice only works for users with a US Google account and a US bank address. Skype was retired by Microsoft in 2025. callmins is browser-based like Skype was, works anywhere in the world like Google Voice doesn't, and supports virtual numbers in 12+ countries.
