What is a second phone number?
A second phone number is an extra, real phone number that rings in an app instead of on a SIM card. People use one to keep work and personal calls apart, to have a UK or US number while living abroad, or to keep their own number private.
How much does a second number cost?
A US number is $2.00 a month. A UK number is $3.00 a month, or $30.00 a year ($2.50 a month, two months free). There is no setup fee, and receiving calls and texts is free. Outgoing calls and texts are paid per minute or per message from your balance.
Can I make calls with my second number?
Yes. Pick your second number as the caller ID and call any mobile or landline. The person you call sees your UK or US number. Calls are charged per minute at the rates shown on the pricing page.
Can I receive verification codes (OTP) on my second number?
On a UK number, yes: verification codes from WhatsApp and most other apps arrive in the callmins app like any other text. US numbers are for calls and texts from people and businesses; they don't receive WhatsApp codes, so choose a UK number for app sign-ups. Telegram blocks its codes to all our numbers. A few banks refuse internet-based numbers, so check before relying on one for a bank account.
Do I need ID or a UK or US address?
