Add $5 or more by card, open Numbers → Buy and choose the UK, the US or Canada. US and Canadian numbers work straight away; UK numbers are usually active within minutes. No ID check.

On the Numbers page, press Don't renew. The number keeps working until the paid month ends and is then released. Nothing else is charged, and the month already paid isn't refunded.

- How do I get a temporary phone number?
- Sign up at callmins.com, top up your wallet by $5 or more, and buy a number under Numbers → Buy. Then press "Don't renew" on the number. It works for the month you paid for and is released when the month ends, with nothing more to pay. Rent already paid isn't refunded.
- How much does a temporary number cost?
- One month is the minimum: $2.00 for a US number, $2.00 for a Canadian number and $3.00 for a UK number, with no setup fee. Receiving calls and texts is included. There is no daily or weekly option, because the carrier charges for a full month either way.
- Can I use a temporary number for verification codes?
- Yes, with the right country. Our UK numbers receive WhatsApp and WeChat codes. US numbers don't receive WhatsApp or Signal codes, and other app codes on Canadian numbers aren't confirmed yet. Telegram doesn't send codes to any of our numbers. Some banks and payment apps refuse all internet-based numbers, from any provider.
- Is it safe to use a temporary number for an account I'll keep?
- Only while you keep the number. Many apps send a new code when you log in on a new phone or reset a password. Once a number is released, the carrier can give it to someone else later, and they would receive those codes. Move the account to another number before you let a temporary number go, or keep renewing it.
- How is this different from free temporary number websites?
- Free temp-number sites show one number and its texts to everyone who visits, so anyone can read your code, and WhatsApp and most apps block those numbers. A callmins number is yours alone for the time you rent it, receives calls as well as texts, and works with apps that block public numbers.
- Can I change my mind and keep the number?
- Yes. Press "Turn renewal on" any time before the month ends and it renews from your wallet as normal. If you already know you'll keep a UK number, choose yearly billing when you buy it ($30.00 a year): it works out cheaper than paying monthly.
